Collections

Villages residents show off items they are passionate about through a collections feature. These stories give a brief snippet into the collector's life while telling the story with visual images.

01

Steve Silverstein's Cameras

Steve Silverstein has seen life through a lot of different lenses - more than 300 to be exact. With a career ingrained in the camera world, each piece has a story ranging from a call from the CIA to a piece of history a long way from home.

02

Bea Hester's African American Santas

As a collector and with a love for the holidays, Bea Hester keeps her eyes open for usual items. That's how an African American Santa Claus caught her eye and led to her vast collection of having more than 50 Santas in her home.

03

Linda Anthony's Russian Pins

Linda Anthony has a handful of Russian pins with some as old as when Russia was part of the USSR. While she has never been to Russia or even overseas, she liked the way they looked and decided to collect them.

04

Nancy Kirchdoerfer's Slippers

Nancy Kirchdoerfer believes the day is only as fun as the pair of slippers she puts on her feet. With more than 100 pairs, she tries to only wear one pair a year to keep them clean.

Collection Reel on Elephants

This is a reel about an elephant collection that ran on Villages News Network on Comcast Channel 2. I edited the clip and did the audio overlay though it was introduced by the main host of the show.

To make the clip, I took photos of the collector and the collection. I then did a voice recording in the studio and threaded it together through Adobe Premiere Pro. We have since moved to Final Cut Pro.
