About Me
Hey there!
I'm Andrea and I love telling the stories of people in multiple ways. I'm a journalist in the largest retirement community in the world — The Villages. I'm originally from a small town called Seymour, Indiana.
In college, I was able to guest write for Florida Times Union Newspaper and Project Cold Case, both in Jacksonville, Florida. That was back in 2018. Once I graduated from the University of North Florida with my bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus on Multimedia Journalism and a minor in Literature, I did some freelance writing with Ocala Magazine until March 2019.
Working for an award-winning newspaper, I have been able to serve as a reporter, producer and a leader.
I see my role in journalism as a service to the community, which is why I've built my career in local news. I approach every pitch by asking whether it meaningfully serves the audience, respecting their time, answering their questions and meeting them where they actually consume news while also giving them a voice. That mindset guides my breaking news and enterprise reporting, grounded in authenticity, urgency and clear storytelling.
Thank you for stopping by and following my journey.
